Bankfield House,, our Lake District Holiday Home, is perfect as group accommodation because it is easy to get to, large and spacious. It’s also on the door step of the Lake District National Park where there are countless group activities to enjoy such as walking, sailing and climbing. For those interested in the arts, again there are a range of sights such as Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage, Holker Hall and Sizergh Castle to name a few. Walking distance to the house are a few pubs so if you get bored of cooking for yourselves you can always venture the 50 metres down the hill. Other events that groups enjoy include Cartmel Races and Holker Hall shows. For more information read the Lake District Sights section.
Bankfield House is well suited for groups because there are 5 bedrooms with additional sleeping downstairs should it be needed. There are also plenty of bathroom facilities. There’s a range of entertaining areas to enjoy a meal and a chat: the conservatory, the patio or the kitchen. The BBQ on the patio is yet another a great space to eat and let kids run around on the lawns in front while the adults share a few drinks under the vines of the veranda. Should the night be chilly you can light the log stove in the conservatory and we’ll even give you the logs.
As well as the dining spaces, we’ve arranged the lounge so it can sit up to 14 people, so that everyone can be seated comfortably to watch a DVD or play games. And for the kids, there is a games room, decked out with board games and a television. We’ve tried our best to equip the house for kids with high chairs available but they will find the space and the gardens the main delight.
Groups particularly find the drying room useful and the sheds where people can keep any bikes or other bits.
